My Favourite Book - The Hunger Games suggested by Kim Thomas

Welcome to the third installment of MabisMab's new series: My Favourite Book, in which you are invited to share your favourite read and tell us why you love it so much! If you would like to be featured, please fill out this form.

Next to share their favourite book is Kim Thomas, a fitness enthusiast and marathon runner sharing a love of books with her sisters:

What is your favourite book?

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
What is it about?

An annual event in which one boy and one girl from each of 12 districts must compete in a fight to the death. This is to remind the districts to not start another revolution against the ruling Capitol.

Why is this book your favourite?
The book follows the story of a young girl who volunteers to take her younger sister's place in the Hunger Games. I drew parallels from the main character, Katniss, and found the story very enticing. This was one book that I could not put down and I ended up finishing the trilogy in less than two weeks.

How did you discover your favourite book?

I read online that the series was going to be made into a movie and set about finding reviews for the books and found a review on Mab is Mab no less! I set about buying the trilogy book set and have not looked back!

How has your favourite book impacted you, if at all?

It has ignited a desire to read more and I have even set about re-reading the series again. I got so enthused about them that I even managed to get my younger sister to read the first book too.

Here's your chance to encourage others to read your favourite book!

This book will keep you engaged from start to finish. It's exciting and I highly recommend it!

Thanks Kim! It's great to hear that MabisMab is encouraging others to find new books. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
